Cutting the (Frequent Flyer) Card

Matt James, visiting scholar at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, decided to reduce his air travel by 25% this year. He says, “I was flying well over 100,000 miles per year.  A 25% cut for means more than 12 tons of carbon saved and I can still accomplish what I need to.”

(Note: 1,000 miles of air travel releases 1,000 pounds of carbon.)
