Alain Camou, principal at Las Lomitas Elementary School, says: One of the most effective tools I have used with my family is the “average energy use” document that PG&E sends out. Trying to stay between the Energy Efficient Household and the Average Household each month helps guide the conversation with our children around turning lights off in rooms that are vacant, keeping lights of during the day, replacing lights with energy efficient bulbs where appropriate and keeping the thermostat low on cold days and nights. We are also active in recycling and composting.
